Biography

A professional career that spans ten years and boasts six world titles, Lisa Brown is one of the key figures in women’s professional boxing. The 5’2 1/2” southpaw was born on January 17, 1971 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and emigrated to Canada at age 17. Lisa Brown now lives near Toronto, Canada and trains at her home gym and at the historic Cabbagetown Boxing Club, Canada’s famed boxing club.

Lisa’s trainer and husband, Errol Brown is a former professional boxer who brings his own ring experience to his role as head trainer. Team Brown’s goal is to be recognized as the pound for pound best female boxer on the planet by unifying the super bantamweight titles and by achieving the dream of winning seven world championship belts.

Lisa also credits her first trainer at Cabbagetown Boxing Club, Michael Doesburg, who is currently living in Cuba with guiding her to her first world title. Mike, who himself is a former professional boxer, trained Lisa to the  I.W.B.F. World Championship — the first of her six world titles.
